High Security Turnstile
Láznička, Petr ; Jonák, Martin (referee) ; Pokorný, Přemysl (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to propose design solutions both ways-through the turnstile with a high degree of security, in collaboration with the company named Cominfo a.s. Bachelor thesis will be focused on design solution of the turnstile. It should also perform strength check of pin-brake and check the electric motor if is powerful enough. The examination of the pin-brake will be supported by engineering calculations..
Development of methods for analysys road safety barriers in terms of dynamic effects
Koudelka, Ivan ; Krejsa,, Martin (referee) ; prof. Ing. Alois Materna, CSc., MBA (referee) ; Salajka, Vlastislav (advisor)
The presented work analyses the methodology and approach of the legislation. It presents in the press presented results of numerical modelling of the impact of vehicles crashed into barriers that are being solved in the Czech Republic and worldwide. It presents a recommendation of a methodology for assessing crash barriers. The methodology follows the basic principles used in the TP 101 and EN 1991-1-1. The kinetic energy of the vehicle at the moment of impact is replaced with substitute static force, whose effects are comparable with those of a vehicle collision. The supporting structure of crash barriers is implemented in compliance with means of statics. The calculation includes the vehicle deformation, which represents the real distribution of the energy absorbed by the deformation of the vehicle and the energy that crash barriers need to absorb. The proposed methods allow to take into account non-linear behaviour of the structure both in terms of geometry and in terms of material nonlinearity. The work also deals with the interpretation of various types of support structures in the computational model. A specific case is used for a demonstration of a way of modelling the elastic supporting column of crash barriers in the soil, or modelling the friction of a loose concrete block over the surface. To ensure the proper position of interconnected loose blocks corresponding to the reality, a method of modelling the place of a possible contact of the breakthrough is drafted. A significant contribution to the more accurate calculation is achieved by sequential increase of the load on the construction by using load increment and measurement of energy increases absorbed by the deformation in each step. The presented methodology is an effective tool to assess crash barriers. For the application of this tool, using common resources and facilities available to almost every designer dealing with statics of structures is sufficient. In conclusion, the knowledge obtained fr
Modernity and the Holocaust
Kolomazníková, Pavla ; Mačuda, Michal (referee) ; Rozwalka, Szymon (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis Modernity and the Holocaust refers to the book of the same name by the Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman. In this book, Zykmund Bauman analyzes the relationship between modernist thinking and the Holocaust from a sociological perspective. In my diploma thesis I deal with the design of the Documentation Center, for which a closed architectural competition was announced in Brno. The topic is a continuation of the previous project, in which we analyzed mainly Bauman's work. These analyzes helped us to continue designing the center with a completely new perspective of thinking not only about the society, but also the architecture itself. In my project, I work with the issue of borders and barriers in connection with the division of people and spaces. I am looking for a ways of creatig the space that, by its very nature, call into question what is the real meaning of borders and barriers. In my proposal, I work with the idea of borders at different levels. As at the urban, service or material level. In my projcet I am disrupting som of the barriers and borders, I am creating new ones, but I am also reversing the relation ship between each other.
Parallel Solution of Systems of Linear Differential Equations
Humená, Patrícia ; Kunovský, Jiří (referee) ; Valenta, Václav (advisor)
Objective of this thesis is to familiarize with the numerical solution of linear systems of ordinary differential equations. This solution will be implemented by using a parallel implementation including thread synchronization.
Access to Railway Platform for Wheelchair User
Šafář, Zdeněk ; Tomandl, Vladimír (referee) ; Svoboda, Richard (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis focuses on wheelchair accessible survey at railway stations. It has been chosen a few different kind of stations which are marked as physically disabled accessible. Railway stations have been thoroughly visited, gauged and explored. The main intention was to solve these problems as an activity chain performed by people at railway stations. It means everything from passengers arrival, do all steps in a station building, to passengers access to platforms and after that getting on the train. Due to large extent of wheelchair accessible, this thesis has only focused on wheelchair users.

Knežníková, Zuzana ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The concept is based on integration of mixed use building to the historic urban structure and creation of dominant building of significant function - municipal library.
The system of care for youth at-risk
Ratajová, Irena ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Witz, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the care system for at-risk youth in the Czech Republic. He examines it through the lens of youth curators who coordinate individual cases. As Street level bureaucracy, they implement the care policy for at-risk youth. I set myself the main goal of the work. To find out how the current system of protection of children's rights works, focusing on the clients of the youth curator and to identify key problems in the field of implementation of the current policy of protection of children's rights from the perspective of youth curators, as line workers. I elaborated the main goal into sub-research questions that deal with tools, strengths of the system, barriers, opportunities for curators to participate in policy making, the identification of curators with the current direction of the system, and I further find out whether curators have sufficient conditions for the performance of their profession. I also set two sub- goals. The first deals with the possibilities of innovation and improvement of the entire system, for example through examples of good practice or inspiration abroad. The second one investigates how the problems of recent times have been reflected in the performance of the curator's activities. The theoretical starting points of the work are the theory of...
Pupils with different native language at Czech schools
HOUDKOVÁ, Klára
Bachelor thesis is focusing on current issues with education of pupils with different native language. Thesis focuses on solving language barrier and its reduction, which is the biggest problem in teaching the children with different native language. Text deals with pupil's characteristic, their integration to class collective, with problems, which can appear along with these pupils. Basically, this thesis explains every needed information related with teaching pupils with different native language from teachers' views. The goal is to find out the best way of reduction language barrier and suitable teachers' approaches.

Bird mortality at transparent barriers
Houdová, Monika ; Reif, Jiří (advisor) ; Koleček, Jaroslav (referee)
Bird mortality at transparent barriers (noise barriers or common house windows) is undoubtedly very important environmental issue, because of the rapid development of human society and even more rapid growth of very dangerous places for birds. At this time there is no review article yet, that would synthesize each sub-study on the extent to which individuals can die on those obstacles, which factors are critical for the ability of obstacle avoiding, how much collision threaten the vitality of bird populations and if we can prevent such unintended damage. This bachelor thesis handle with these questions as a literary review. From the available information we can suggests that the most important factor is migration behavior of birds, individuals migrating through the night are much more at risk than those migrating during the day, mostly because of light pollution, which can confuse them. The most dangerous time of year in this direction is clearly autumn, and that also relates with migration. Population losses caused by collision to the transparent barriers can be up to 20 % of the total population per year. Thesis in addition to a summary of available information on the issue proposes and evaluates possible preventive aplications, which may further serve to effective conservation for birds among...
